Abstract

The need for data in development planning and government performance evaluation is urgently needed. The need for data that is up to date, accurate and continuous will result in measurable and targeted development. Data on socioeconomic conditions are needed to provide a picture of development achievements and can also be used by policy makers to evaluate development programs. Data related to people's living needs such as clothing, food, shelter, education, health, security, and employment opportunities are needed to determine how far the achievement of development results reaches all levels of society. The National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas) is designed to produce socioeconomic data on the population in the fields of population, education, health, fertility and family planning, housing, social security, and consumption and expenditure. Starting in 2015, Susenas data collection is carried out twice a year, namely in March and September. This publication was published based on the results of the March 2023 Susenas. The publication of the 2023 North Central Timorese People's Welfare Statistics is presented in the form of a percentage figure of a population so that data users can find out the difference in welfare levels between characteristics. Some data were also differentiated by gender, education level, and expenditure group. With the publication of this book, it is hoped that the needs of statistical data on people's welfare can mostly be met. To all parties who have participated in trying to realize this publication, thank you.
